Frequently asked questions
What is the flying food cover?
Imagine a clean microwave without having to remember to cover your food every time. Now with the first ever Flying Food Cover, you have a cover that raises when you open the door and covers the food when you close the door - automatically! Its adjustable and ready for service in most microwaves (not for use in Convection Microwaves).
Using the movement of the door to activate the raising and lowering of the cover is a simple way to let the cover fly over your food and contain any splatter during the cooking. Flying Food Cover has an easy to remove cover with smooth surface for easy cleaning. Also, there is an optional liner holder. Using parchment paper (sold separately) you can have multiple layers of easy to remove sheets of protection, extending the time in-between cleaning. Stop Food Flying with the Flying Food Cover.
Is the Flying Food Cover safe to use in my microwave?
Yes! It is 100% completely safe to use the Flying Food Cover in your microwave. However, this product is not meant to be used in Convection Microwaves and ovens.
The new Flying Food Cover is like no other product on the market. Patent pending design uses highest quality, strong, long lasting neodymium microwave safe magnets, BPA Free 100% PP new material, 100% organic cotton rope.
The magnets may get hot during the cooking process, but should not spark or cause a fire. If you do see any sparking or heat coming from magnets, you need to lower the power level of your microwave cook setting, or you need to add more food in the microwave. (Magnets are what microwaves use to create the heat to cook food. The food inside absorbs the energy generated from the magnets within the microwave. If the magnets are getting hot, there is either not enough to food in the microwave to evenly distribute the microwave heat, or you just need to lower the power level settings. This will also help prevent long term "access wear" on your microwave.
How do I install my new Flying Food Cover?
The Flying Food Cover is very easy to install in 5 simple steps!
1) CLEAN inside microwave top surface and door glass with a degrease detergent and/or cleaning supplies.
2) Install I-BEAM with magnets to the top center of the microwave.
NOTE: Some microwaves have a plastic disc on the top. You can adjust the width of the I-beam by
removing 1 side of the magent holder. Then slide out and reinstall and tighten. If the center does not line up, move cotton rope to "Offset Hole". Untie under cover mount, change hole, reinstall and make knot.
3) Connect COVER to COVER MOUNT. Twist right to hold tight.
4) Put DOOR MOUNT to upper right corner of door glass area.
5) Adjust the COTTON ROPE to your preferred length. With door fully open, slide the cotton rope adjuster inward - toward microwave untill the cover touches top. Remove slack in cotton rope if desired. You may like the Cover lower or higher. Adjust here for average height. If you like cover LOWER for some dishes slide DOOR MOUNT toward you. HIGHER ---> Slide Down.
Additional important information:

~ If the Door Mount is sliding or falling off when opening the door, make sure microwave surface is clean and free from any debris that would prevent the magnet from connecting onto the door. Make sure you open the door slowly. And lastly, make sure you adjust or loosen the cotton rope adjuster to the appropriate length setting for your microwave.

Will this fit all Microwaves?
Though the size will fit in all microwaves there is a challenge for the operation of the device in some small "counter top" microwaves. We recommend using "standard" and "over the range" microwaves.
Can I use this in my Countertop Oven or Convection Microwave Oven?
No. The plastic and organic cotton rope should NEVER be heated with direct heat. This can melt or catch fire.
